Zambala also pronounced as Jhambala or Dzambhala, is a celestial being from the North, who followed Buddha, and almost reached enlightenment. He now serves as a guardian and protects all living beings. He is mostly approached for wealth, treasures, good fortune and good living.
Zambala is commonly known as money guard. The God of wealth, the Buddhist form of Kubera. The prosperous-looking Zambala is always shown a bit overweight, in fact, not really fat, but with a healthy body.
He is shown with a luxurious crown on his round head and holds a lemon in his right hand. Often he is sitting on a cute looking small dragon. Dragons are seen as benevolent beings in Asia.
In his left, Zambala is holding a mongoose that vomits jewels.And, often he holds some more attributes of abundant wealth in his hands like a money bag with coins.
Zambala is manifesting in a semi-wrathful appearance and is depicted sitting upon a moon disc atop a lotus seat with his right leg extended upon a couch. His saffron orange body is adorned with various precious ornaments and a garland of fresh flowers. In short, Zambala is known as the god of wealth and dharma protector.
