Silk brocading is a process decorating a Thangka in traditionalTibetanstyle. The frame is made of beautiful silk fabric having rich colors pigment and patterns.
Thangka Brocade adds a very beautiful finishing to any thangka painting. These Traditional Embroidery thangka are very durable and beautiful when hanged in your meditation altar space or your House.
These beautiful, sacredpieces of art carry with them the energy of the tradition, the deities, and the artists. Traditionally, a cloth covering is used to contain the painting’s energy as well as to protect the thangka when it is not in use. When the thangka is being used or displayed, the cloth is drawn up to form a drape resembling a flower. Stitched to either side of the cloth hang two decorative red streamers.
Please make sure you have added both the thangka and brocade to your cart. Please give around 3 - 5 days for the brocade to be added on your thangka painting.

Great brocade frame!
For the second time in the past year, the Art of Tibet silk brocade framing I got with my thangka was splendid. Matched the image perfectly and was expertly executed. Based on my experience, one should all get their brocade frames when purchasing a thangka.

Wonderful framing job!
As noted in another review, I recently purchased a beautiful thangka from Art of Tibet and was glad to see that they offered a framing option. The end result was perfect!
Silk brocading is a process of framing a Thangka in traditional Tibetan style. The frame is made of beautiful silk fabric having rich colors and patterns. Brocade can be added to any Thangka painting upon request. The diagram to the right shows the different components of a typical brocade frame.
The silk fabric protects the edges of the Thangka, and also makes it easier to hang. A thin silk cover protects the painting when rolled, and may be gathered up to display the painting when hung on the wall. It is generally thought that silk brocade renders a Thangka more attractive and more religious.
BROCADE EXPERTS FROM NEPAL
Framing the Thangka is a laborious process and it requires great skill to end up with a straight-hanging piece of art. Further, a Thangka may be easily damaged during the brocading process and the silk fabric is expensive. Thus, all of our brocading work is performed by a specialized tailor with many years of brocading experience. We guarantee that your frame will look stunning and the work is usually completed within one to two business days (very large Thangkas may take a bit longer).

Perfect
The item was perfect and the delivery as well. Was able to track the shipment from Tibet to my front door. Was most pleased with the whole process.
The Kurkulla thangka I recently bought is at the same high level as all the others I’ve purchased from Art of Tibet (4 prior to this one). The brocade framing is perfect. The Art of Tibet staff is extremely efficient, answering questions almost immediately through their “chat” and email options. The thangkas are all carefully packaged and sent through reliable services (e.g., DHL)
